The Poseidon Solid State Oxygen Sensor (SSO2) offers the benefits of no need for routine calibration, no need for periodic annual replacement and enhanced stability. Poseidon’s solid state oxygen sensor (SSO2) is factory-calibrated and with exceptional operating life and calibration stability. The sensor is similarly shaped to existing galvanic sensors with a M16x1 mounting thread. The electronics in the sensor are hermetically sealed by a transparent window, have an external DuraClik molex connector, and digital communication interface. Each sensor is EMC tested and has a unique electronic ID number for traceability.
Poseidon’s solid state oxygen sensor technology is based on unique luminescent dyes, which are excited with red light and show an oxygen-dependent luminescence in the range of near infrared light (NIR). This technology offers high precision, high reliability, low power consumption, low cross sensitivity, and fast response times. Dive Gear Express believes the SSO2 offers significant improvement in convenience and reliability of oxygen measurement for rebreather divers.
The digital solid state oxygen sensor is not a plug compatible replacement for the analog oxygen sensor and so currently only Poseidon devices can use the SSO2. Supported devices currently include only the Se7en+, the CPod adapter, and the M28 handset.
